The Seattle Storm have signed guard Jaylyn Sherrod to the team’s second player-development roster spot, the club announced Sept. 13.
The designation comes directly from Seattle’s release. The Storm did not disclose contract length, financial terms or a timetable for Sherrod’s availability, so the transaction should be understood as a completed player-development move rather than a promise of a particular active-roster role.
Recent professional experience
Sherrod joins Seattle after appearing in 10 games with Atlanta this season. The Storm says the 5-foot-7 guard averaged 2.3 points, 1.1 assists and 0.5 steals in those appearances.
Seattle also cited her time with the New York Liberty, where she won the 2024 WNBA championship. Earlier in 2026, Sherrod played in Athletes Unlimited and averaged 9.2 points on 43.4% shooting, plus 2.8 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game, according to the club.
Colorado credentials
Before turning professional, Sherrod spent five seasons at Colorado. Seattle credited her as a two-time All-Pac-12 selection and a three-time Pac-12 All-Defensive selection, as well as a 2024 WBCA and Associated Press All-America honorable mention.
The combination of a recent Atlanta stint, a championship season in New York and a lengthy Colorado record gives the Storm documented context for the move. The statistics from Atlanta and Athletes Unlimited come from different competitions and should be read as separate recent samples.
What remains open
Seattle’s announcement establishes Sherrod’s player-development designation, not an expanded roster forecast. The team did not set out how it plans to use her in future games or announce further terms.
For now, the official record is clear: the Storm have filled their second player-development spot with a guard whose pro and college background stretches across Atlanta, New York, Athletes Unlimited and Colorado.
