Washington coach Danny Sprinkle, guard Ryan Beasley and center Lathan Sommerville are scheduled to represent the Huskies at Big Ten Men’s Basketball Media Day in the Chicago area.
Washington Athletics said the group’s Big Ten Network appearance is scheduled before the Huskies begin their announced exhibition schedule: Oct. 17 at Boise State and Oct. 25 against Washington State. Those are exhibitions, not regular-season games, and no game result is implied by the schedule.
A veteran-transfer roster takes shape
The university described Washington’s 2026–27 roster as having an average age of 21.1 years. Six college transfers bring a combined 22 seasons of experience and more than 500 career games, according to the release.
Beasley arrives after three seasons at San Francisco. Washington said the 2026 Second Team All-WCC guard averaged 13.6 points, 4.0 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game in 2025–26 and is fewer than 100 points short of 1,000 for his career.
Sommerville’s return and the upcoming exhibitions
Sommerville is returning for his second Washington season. The 6-foot-10 center played in 22 games, including seven starts, during an injury-affected 2025–26 season, according to the university.
The media-day release is a preseason update about the people Washington has selected to represent the program and the roster context they bring. It does not forecast the Huskies’ results.
